Note: There are consideration when doing an 'Advanced' Myspace page. The following do not apply to 'Basic' myspace page layouts.

• Updating your page - Since your page replaces the existing myspace layout, some of the standard myspace features get turned off, and are replaced with 'static' content. Some areas can be still be updated using the myspace interface such as the blog and music player, but the other sections are made using HTML, so updating them requires having me or someone with the proper skill to update them. We do updates at a rate of $45/hr, and the average update can be quick (5-10 minutes) or long (1-2 hours) depending on the type of changes that need to be made. Text updates are usually quick and easy, but major graphical changes can take longer. For the most part though, once you get it looking right it doesn't need to be updated that often. Also I can set up a shows section that can be edited by the client easily, though it's not done through the myspace interface.

• Myspace Updates - Since we use 'trickery' to customize the myspace page it can be broken if myspace makes a major change to the way their site works. This means that myspace will update their software and then suddenly your myspace page can look weird or misaligned. If this happens then we need to fix the code to repair the page. It's hard to estimate how long it will take to fix a page. In that past it has been pretty easy, but since myspace can do whatever they want, it's theoretically possible that they could redo their entire infrastructure, making things very hard to fix. For this reason we usually provide a back-up version of your myspace page that's a bit more basic (still has custom graphics just limited to certain areas) and can't be broken, and can be put up should anything happen happen to the custom page design. Myspace does one of these 'page-breaking' updates about once every 1.5 years. They haven't done one in a long time and they may not do another one, but it's at their discretion. For this reason also I do not guarantee myspace designs to stay functional in the way that I do with normal websites which I have control over.
