Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year Everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted as we’ve been very busy here at the studio. 2008 was a great year though, and I’ve started the new year with lots of updates to the site. I’ve posted lots of new examples and I’ve revamped the package deals that I offer bands to not only reflect new design services that I offer (because I keep getting asked for them) but also my new prices. I think these new packages are even more applicable than before and they’re a hell of a deal! You can check them out HERE.

Coming Soon.. Interactive PDF’s
I’m putting the finishing touches on an Interactive PDF service for bands. Used as an EPK (Electronic Press Kit) an interactive PDF can be sent in an email or downloaded from your website and will feature rich media content. This means it will have mp3’s, streaming video, and hyperlinks embedded right inside the PDF. I’m extremely excited about this and I think that the PDF’s potential has yet to be tapped and that it will serve as the real standard in the future. So far most formats for sending an EPK across the net are unreliable, especially HTML emails which are still most often received as spam.

Heading Back to the Studio
I will be flying to Seattle, Washington to record 4 new songs with my band Solid State Logic at the end of this month. I’ll be there from February 22nd to March 1st and I’ll likely be hard to reach for much of that time. This will be my band’s 4th major recording session over the last few years and I’m pretty excited to hear the new songs come to life. I just hope it can live up to last years recording at NRG studios in Hollywood where we got to record next to Linkin Park while they were finishing Minutes To Midnight.

Getting ready for Macworld… and NAMM?
So I’m gearing up for another Macworld here in San Francisco next week. This is always exciting for me being that I’m such a Mac freak and it is definitely the place to geek out on everything Mac. However I can’t help feeling that each year comes closer and closer to just being a big sales event. I just feel like it should be about planning for the new year, making business connections and checking out the competition… rather than a place to buy a new carrying case for my iPod. I’m looking forward to touching bases with some old friends and making some new ones. It is a good place to network in my industry. Also the big stars are there walking around (such as last year when I got to meet Thomas Knoll from Adobe; you may recognize his name from the Adobe Photoshop loading screen… he’s the first one. Really, though, the best thing about Macworld is the parties that happen after conference… it’s always about the parties.
Unfortunately though, Macworld has to overlap with the other kick-ass conference… NAMM. And I’m serious if you haven’t been to NAMM you’ll be pretty blown away. This conference makes Macworld look pathetic in scope and it is the best place to make contacts in the music industry, but unfortunately it’s not in my neighborhood. I do so much business in Los Angeles though, so I’m going to try to attend NAMM as well this year. Not to mention my band Solid State Logic is part of the Coffin Case family, so we always go to NAMM to hand out press kits and party with our sponsors. Last year’s Coffin Case Party was insane.
And let me say, if you’re a band and you haven’t passed out press kits at NAMM then you need to get on your game!!
So let me know if anyone will be at either conference and we can meet up, have a beer, and talk shop.

The New Website Has Launched
I finally got around to giving this site a makeover. Some people like the new look and some don’t, but I’ve re-coded everything to keep it up to date. I will be giving it a new coat of paint from time to time so check back often to see what I come up with. Enjoy!!
